My name is Nate, but most people on the internet know me as Bug! I'm an American illustrator and character/creature designer from the east coast.I create illustrations for themed anthologies as well as design characters for horror and fantasy themed projects. You'll notice a lot of TTRPG and subtle macabre inspirations in my work, and there's a good reason for that! Primarily, I am interested in work on book covers, promotional illustrations, visual development, and game design (especially horror themed!)I practice a wide variety of techniques when it comes to my finished pieces, and I like to explore different expressions of form and line, but most of my work includes deep, saturated colors and well defined forms. 2020Fanart for Tango Gameworks 'The Evil Within' and 'The Evil Within 2'. Originally painted in 2015, the black painting was repainted alongside the white version in 2020.The title is a reference to an april fools day joke posted by the second games director!

THE WEDDING

2020Originally created for a nautical horror anthology, this painting depicts two original characters: a sea monster and their lovely human companion.Her white bathing suit is meant it invoke wedding gown imagery, yes, but it's also a reference to Julie Adams suit in 'Creature from the Black Lagoon!

CLASSICS (BUT MAKE IT GAY)

2022-2023Two pieces completed for Nova and Mali's 'Classics but make it gay' anthology (volumes 2+3).The first image is a re-imagining of "The Fisherman's Wooing" by Eugene de Blass. The second image is a re-imagining of a mosaic depicting the angel Gabriel in the Hagia Sophia.
